Sarah Palin,Beauty Queen

She may be a beauty queen, but she is another corrupt republican.Check out these excerpts from Alaskan blog Mudflats:
"Palin is currently in the middle of a controversial gas pipeline project in Alaska. She’s favored the ‘Trans Canada’ proposal that will run the pipeline through Canada, in effect shipping US jobs over the border. Many Alaskans, including former governors, have favored the “All Alaska Route”.
She is also sueing the federal government over listing the polar bears as a threatened species. The science was even compelling enough to convince the Secretery of the Interior that the bears needed to be listed. But acknowlegement of this issue, and the potential disruption to development on Alaska’s oil-rich north slope spurred Palin to attempt to stop the listing.
Does she want to open ANWR? Yes. Every politician in Alaska wants to open ANWR. It’s basically a requirement if you ever hope to get elected for anything. Even Mark Begich, the progressive Democrat running against the indicted Senator and Alaskan institution Ted Stevens, is pro-drilling. That’s the sea we swim in up here. There are a few anti-drilling folks, but you have to look hard to find them, and work hard to have them admit it.
Alaskans really want to like Sarah Palin. In a state where corruption is the rule, and the same faces keep recycling over and over and over again like a bad dream, a new face, with a promise of reform seemed like a breath of fresh air. Palin defeated incumbent governor Frank Murkowski (father of Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski who he appointed to his own Senate seat when he was elected governor) because he was such an obnoxious, bloviating, downright BAD politician. This staunchly republican state voted with relief, not having to cross over and vote Democratic, but still able to get Murkowski the hell out of office. In the general election Palin swept into office running against a former Democratic governor, Tony Knowles, who was capable but came with baggage. And he represented to Alaskans more of the same, tired old-style politics, and special interests that we have come to loathe.
So, if McCain had made his selection six months ago, the squeaky-clean governor meme would have made a little more sense. But, Sarah Palin is currently under an ethics investigation by the Alaska state legislature..... "

I think Sarah Palin has a lot to offer the USA. Your article seems biased to me.

I respect your comment. However this was a cynical opportunistic pick by McCain to grab some of the Hillary votes. Ms.Palin is a corrupt inexperienced evangelical housewife with a LOT of political baggage.Any number of other female republican office holders would have been better....anonymous.

If you have any regard or reverence for this country, this planet and any other creature that lives upon it you must read the info at this site. Read deep at every link: http://www.grizzlybay.org/SarahPalinInfoPage.htm
If McCain were to win, heaven help us, and he were to become too ill to do his job, guess who would be put at the helm...Be aware, be very aware of this woman...she is evil. VOTE OBAMA NOV 2008!!!

The fact that an aged candidate chose a young, inexperienced running mate is very frightening to me. Surely he had other, more solid choices! To choose this woman in hopes of grasping at Hillary followers is an insult to all women voters! That, combined with the fact that McCain was absent for 60% of the Senate votes this session - tells me he has even less of a clue than George W.

You are a bunch of liberal wankers! It's refreshing to have a washington outsider, not another lawyer, such as Obama. Obama is an inexperienced pretender. The ticket would be more realistic with him as VP and Biden as top dog. Just another loser ticket... And completely outfoxed by the Republicans with the VP pick...as usual! They're kicking themselves for not picking that ol' battle axe Hillary! HA!

It's amazing how simplistic and naive American voters are. Both parties are owned by the same multinational corporations and foundations. Watching the political process in this country is like watching some form of sporting event. Which only seems appropriate for the people that live in this country. Us vs. Them. Black vs. White. Democrats are always pointing out all the faults of the Republicans and Republicans are always highlighting the faults of the Democrats. Both parties are corrupt and could care less for the constituents that they supposedly represent. Grow up folks. Whether Obama gets elected or McCain, it isn't going to make a hill of beans difference. Our jobs will continue to get outsourced to foreign countries, illegal immigrants will continue to pour across our southern border, the standard of living will continue to decline for most Americans and all the while the people will continue to believe that their party is trying to make things right. These pricks will sell you out in a nanosecond. WAKE UP! Stop being chumps and throw out both these corrupt parties. But I know you won't do that. Just keep cheering for your "team" to win. After all, your team winning the White House is almost as good as your team winning the Super Bowl. Go team!

Anonymous has a good point.

Anyone who points out that Ms. Palin has virtually no relevant experience must be a liberal wanker.

Like, for example, Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough, neither of whom believed that she could possibly be the VP pick precisely because she has no relevant experience.

Liberal wankers.

I find it ironic that Obama is frequently critisized for being naive and showing poor judgement in making strictly opportunistic decisions for his own political gain. Well what was that decision by John McCain in picking Gov Palin other than an ill-informed, politically cynical, and worse yet -egregiously dangerous selection of a person who is a self-confessed novice on the stage of world affairs. Honestly, doesn't Senator McCain hear America's number one concern regarding the next President AND Vice- President? We want the next leaders of the free world with smarts and a broad understanding of the ENTIRE Planet, not just oil companies and oh, uh... what else do they talk about...? Oh yes, oil companies.

The more handsome a male politician is, the more likely he is to get elected. What do you hacks want your future president to look like, Golda Meier or Margaret Thatcher. And guess what, ugly people tend to be dumber than attractive people. Look it up!
