Vote For Pedro!

I need your help!
Dear fans of Creative Radio:

This week the Eugene Weekly has on the inside front cover the official ballot for the best of Eugene readers poll. Rather than having some corporate happy talk loser show that plays wimpy top 40 soft rock win again this year, strike a blow for free form radio that doesnt suck and vote for The Hangover.

A lot of you know that last year I won both radio categories in the Best of the Eugene Weekly Awards. And even though there has been the emergence of some great local radio shows on KWVA including The Baker's Ball and The Girls Room, I am asking again this year for your vote for Best Radio Show/Radio Personality.

Please Go to: http://ballot.eugeneweekly.com/index.php?sid=1
to register to vote online or pick up the latest Eugene Weekly to vote.
HERE ARE TEN REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FORTHE SUNDAY MORNING HANGOVER AS THE BEST RADIO SHOW ON EUGENE WEEKLYS BEST OF EUGENE BALLOT 2006

1) My show The Sunday Morning Hangover has been entertaining Eugene for almost four years playing obscure and forgotten popular music from the early 1900s up to present day sounds.
2) In the space of Two hours on Sunday mornings on KWVA 88.1 FM I have covered musical genres such as Exotica, Lounge, International, Found Music, Stupid Songs, Bizarre Childrens Music, Jazz, Rock, Country, Folk, Classical, Nostalgia, and Comedy while trying to maintain a palatable mix entertaining enough to listen to even with a Hangover.
3) Past shows have featured Rare and Unreleased tracks not commercially available and unheard on other radio shows.
4) I have produced and obtained Biographic Specials about artists such as Martin Denny, Ray Charles, The Bonzo Dog Band, Brian Eno, Peggy Lee, Henry Mancini, William Shatner, The Kinks, The Beach Boys and Syd Barrett.
5) Recognition of the "Hangover" and other great shows such as "Snap Crackle and Pop" in The Emerald, Eugene Weekly, and the Register Guard newspapers has brought much needed attention to KWVA's alternative format.
6) The Hangover is not just about music. Talk and Discussion segments have included info on the Arts, Hangover Cures, Entertainment News, Obits, Tributes, Horoscopes, Political Comment, Weird News, and Pet Parades. This year we exposed Bush's drunkeness and his affair with Condi,as well as the Administrations botch-up after Hurricane Katrina.
7) I am the only show on KWVA that has archives available (http://ahammer.com/marctime/) of past shows such as Women's History Month that features special herstories about prominent female recording pioneers such as Astrud Gilberto and Dionne Warwick. And don't forget that General Marc Time & Sargeant Peter Herley went to WAR!!! (against the corrupt powers of commercial radio) last February and showed local commercial radio the wrath of FREE FORM RADIO.
8) Outside factors such as funding issues and pressure from Student Advocates are threatening the existence of non-student run radio shows. This year, more than ever,I need your support.
9)A Real Stoopid Reason to vote for The Sunday Morning Hangover Best Eugene Radio Show is to feed and stroke my massive ego, and everyone knows all radio DJs are egomaniacal assholes who need constant attention.
10)I hope that the main reason that you vote in the Best of the Eugene Weekly for The Sunday Morning Hangover is that you like my show and are entertained by it. If you have a show at KWVA and you think that your show deserves the Best Of Award, by all means I hope that you will encourage your listeners to vote.
The last thing I would ever want to see is a commercial FM corprorate rock station win an award for not being creative innovative or different.

So there you have it. PLEASE VOTE EARLY AND OFTEN and get your votes in by my Birthday, September 2.
